2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Donald W. Miller of North Aurora, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on September 5, 2010; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Donald Miller was born December 1, 1936, in | ||||||
6 | Kellogg, Minnesota, the son of Fred and Rosalia (Miller) | ||||||
7 | Miller; he was united in marriage to Patricia M. (Knur) Miller | ||||||
8 | on May 14, 1963, at St. Mary Church in Aurora; he served three | ||||||
9 | years in the United States Army, where he was stationed in | ||||||
10 | Japan; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, He was employed for 42 years with the Burlington | ||||||
12 | Northern Railroad, and another 10 years with the Kane County | ||||||
13 | Cougars; he was an active member of Blessed Sacrament Church in | ||||||
14 | North Aurora; he was a third degree member of the Knights of | ||||||
15 | Columbus, sang in the choir, and was active in the "Right to | ||||||
16 | Life" Ministry, as well as the Aurora Interfaith Food Pantry; | ||||||
17 | he kept busy with gardening, fishing, and sports of all kinds; | ||||||
18 | his big thrills were trips to Minnesota and family reunions; | ||||||
19 | and

20 | WHEREAS, Donald Miller was preceded in death by his | ||||||
21 | parents; his brothers, Fred Jr., Kenneth, and Frances; his | ||||||
22 | grandson, Alexander; his daughter-in-law, Catherine (Flores) |

2 | WHEREAS, Donald Miller is survived by his wife of 47 years, | ||||||
3 | Patricia; his sons, Andrew Miller, Lawrence (Dawn) Miller, and | ||||||
4 | Edward Miller; his grandchildren, Charisma L. Duncan, Rachel A. | ||||||
5 | Lucena, Edwin J. Duncan, Angelic N. Hill, Brandon S. Pounds, | ||||||
6 | Joseph M. Miller, Alexandrea J. Miller, Elizabeth M. Miller, | ||||||
7 | Zachary J. Miller, and Alysa R. Miller; his | ||||||
8 | great-grandchildren; his sisters, Ruth (Gerald) Klein and Mary | ||||||
9 | Wolf; his brothers, James (Susan) Miller, Paul (Julie) Miller, | ||||||

13 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | ||||||
14 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
15 | his family and friends, the passing of Donald Miller; and be it | ||||||

17 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
18 | presented to the family of Donald Miller as a symbol of our | ||||||
