2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Nancy June Scaife Beatty of | ||||||
4 | Springfield, who passed away on March 7, 2024; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Nancy Beatty was born in Springfield to William | ||||||
6 | A. and Florence Bessie Maurer on December 19, 1928; she | ||||||
7 | graduated from Springfield High School and attended Brown's | ||||||
8 | Business College; she married Donald Lee Beatty; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Nancy Beatty worked at the Federated Funeral | ||||||
10 | Directors in Springfield; she retired in 1992 from the | ||||||
11 | Illinois State Senate as a legislative secretary after more | ||||||
12 | than 20 years of service; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Nancy Beatty Nancy was a member of West Side | ||||||
14 | Christian Church and the Red Hat Society; she enjoyed | ||||||
15 | traveling and arts and crafts; and

16 | WHEREAS, Nancy Beatty was preceded in death by her | ||||||
17 | husband, Donald, and her son, Thomas Scaife; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Nancy Beatty is survived by her children, Rick | ||||||
19 | (Cathy) Scaife and Steven (Sue) Scaife; her stepchildren, | ||||||
20 | Dianne (Ed) Leach, Bonnie (Dave) Willis, Brian (Deb) Beatty, |
