| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Drexel R. Franks of Rock Island, who | ||||||
| 4 | passed away on February 17, 2024; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Drexel Franks was born in Rock Island on | ||||||
| 6 | September 29, 1953; he served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS | ||||||
| 7 | Kitty Hawk; he married MaryEllen Franks in Rock Island on | ||||||
| 8 | November 2, 1973; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Drexel Franks worked for Montgomery Escalator, | ||||||
| 10 | currently Kone, in Moline for 27 years; he retired from Marco | ||||||
| 11 | in Davenport, Iowa; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Drexel Franks was an avid fan of westerns and | ||||||
| 13 | country music; he enjoyed going to the Active Day Senior | ||||||
| 14 | Center in Moline; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Drexel Franks was preceded in death by his wife, | ||||||
| 16 | MaryEllen, and his son-in-law, Richard Whitcomb; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Drexel Franks is survived by his children, Amy | ||||||
| 18 | Whitcomb, Sarah (Steve) Rockwell, and Matthew (Jacqueline) | ||||||
| 19 | Franks; his grandchildren, Kyler (Hanna), Abbi (Adam), Rachel, | ||||||
| 20 | Kaitlyn, Maddie, Jackson, and Ben; his siblings, Andrea (Tom) | ||||||

| 1 | Johnson, Stan (Deanna) Franks, and Cheryl (David) Hardy; his | ||||||
| 2 | life-long friend, Dean (Deanna) Snow; and his four-legged | ||||||
