2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Walter John "Wally" Hulbert, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on September 7, 2019; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Wally Hulbert was born in Joliet to Walter L. and | ||||||
6 | Mary J. (Sinkovec) Hulbert on March 26, 1931; a lifelong | ||||||
7 | resident of Joliet, he served in the United States Army during | ||||||
8 | the Korean War and was awarded the Korean Service Medal with a | ||||||
9 | Bronze Service Star, the Republic of Korea Presidential Unit | ||||||
10 | Citation, a National Defense Service Medal, and a United | ||||||
11 | Nations Service Medal; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Wally Hulbert was employed by Commonwealth Edison | ||||||
13 | and retired in 1991 after 35 years of service; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Wally Hulbert was an active member of the | ||||||
15 | Cathedral of St. Raymond, where he was among the first of the | ||||||
16 | lay Eucharistic ministers and a member of the Men's Club; he | ||||||
17 | was a member of the Knights of Columbus; he coached his sons' | ||||||
18 | baseball teams for many years; he was a hunter and fisherman | ||||||
19 | and an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs; during a game at Wrigley | ||||||
20 | Field on July 29, 2017, he was honored as a Korean War veteran | ||||||
21 | on the jumbotron; he enjoyed bowling with friends on the | ||||||
22 | Chellino Cheese team; he adored his grandchildren and took them |

1 | to practices, games, and school events for many years; he will | ||||||
2 | be remembered as a loving husband, father, "Poppy", and friend; | ||||||

4 | WHEREAS, Wally Hulbert was preceded in death by his | ||||||
5 | parents; his wife, Angelene "Angie" (Egizio) Hulbert; his | ||||||
6 | sister, Beverly Jean Hulbert; and his granddaughter, Nicolette | ||||||
7 | Bellos; and

8 | WHEREAS, Wally Hulbert is survived by his children, John | ||||||
9 | (Susan) Hulbert, Catherine (Andrew) Bellos, Annette (Michael) | ||||||
10 | Sims, and Michael (Ann) Hulbert; his grandchildren, Jeffrey | ||||||
11 | (Emily), Stephen (Tracey), and Kevin Hulbert, Michelle (Kevin) | ||||||
12 | Kethcart, SSG (DS) Bellos, Andreas (Nichole), Angela, William, | ||||||
13 | Anthony, and Gerard Sims, and Benjamin and Brett Hulbert; his | ||||||
14 | great-grandchildren, Addison, Zachary, and Tyler Hulbert, | ||||||
15 | Alexander and Olivia Bellos, Elliott Kethcart, and Keira | ||||||
16 | Hulbert; his sister, Mary Margaret Loucks; his brothers, | ||||||
17 | Donald, Richard (Rose), and Clarence (Barb) Hulbert; his | ||||||
18 | brother-in-law, Dominic (Rita) Egizio; his sister-in-law, | ||||||
19 | Marian Egizio; and many nieces, nephews, and friends; | ||||||
