2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Robert L. "Bob" Verhaeghe of East Moline, | ||||||
4 | who passed away on September 1, 2019; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Bob Verhaeghe was born in Moline to Julius and | ||||||
6 | Rachel Verhaeghe on August 6, 1927; he served in the United | ||||||
7 | States Army during World War II; he married Joyce Moore at St. | ||||||
8 | Mary's Catholic Church in East Moline on July 14, 1951; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, In 1985, Bob Verhaeghe retired from John Deere | ||||||
10 | Harvester, East Moline after 42 years of service; he then gave | ||||||
11 | tours of the Harvester Plant and Davenport Works for 18 years; | ||||||
12 | and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Bob Verhaeghe bowled for over 50 years; he also | ||||||
14 | enjoyed playing bingo and going to casinos; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Bob Verhaeghe was preceded in death by his | ||||||
16 | parents; his wife, Joyce; his siblings, George Verhaeghe and | ||||||
17 | Margaret (Harvey) Wriedt; and his son-in-law, John Versypt; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Bob Verhaeghe is survived by his children, Janet | ||||||
19 | Versypt, Ronald (Cindy) Verhaeghe, Cathy (Ron) Pershy, Lorrie | ||||||
20 | (Ron) Williams, and Robert E. (Denise) Verhaeghe; eleven |

1 | grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and three | ||||||
2 | great-great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

3 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
4 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
5 | Robert L. "Bob" Verhaeghe and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
6 | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
7 | further

8 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
9 | presented to the family of Bob Verhaeghe as an expression of | ||||||
10 | our deepest sympathy.
