SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of William H. "Bill" McCue of Springfield,
4who passed away on February 18, 2012; and
5 WHEREAS, He was born September 28, 1925, the son of Bernard
6and Erma McCue; he graduated from Riverton High School,
7attended Springfield Junior College, and graduated from the
8University of Illinois in 1949; and
9 WHEREAS, William McCue married Joan Parrish on May 5th,
101951; and
11 WHEREAS, He placed among the top 8 in the nation for the
12Certified Public Accountant examination in November, 1952; he
13served in the United States Army, achieving the rank of
14Sergeant, from 1944 to 1946, in both the European and Pacific
15Theaters; he worked and later became a senior partner in the
16CPA firm of Meyer and VanMeter; and
17 WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents and his
18sister, Dorothy; and
19 WHEREAS, William McCue is survived by his wife; his
20daughters, Cynthia J. (husband Lonz) Spears, Christina McCue,

1and Cheryl Hinrichs; his grandsons, Bill, Justin, Jason, and
2Corey; his three great-grandsons; his niece, Kay Bell; and his
3cousins, William Kamm and Nancy Peters; therefore, be it
4 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
6his family and friends, the passing of William McCue; and be it
7further
8 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of William McCue as a symbol of our
10sincere sympathy.
