SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of William H. "Bill" McCue of Springfield,
who passed away on February 18, 2012; and
WHEREAS, He was born September 28, 1925, the son of Bernard
and Erma McCue; he graduated from Riverton High School,
attended Springfield Junior College, and graduated from the
University of Illinois in 1949; and
WHEREAS, William McCue married Joan Parrish on May 5th,
1951; and
WHEREAS, He placed among the top 8 in the nation for the
Certified Public Accountant examination in November, 1952; he
served in the United States Army, achieving the rank of
Sergeant, from 1944 to 1946, in both the European and Pacific
Theaters; he worked and later became a senior partner in the
CPA firm of Meyer and VanMeter; and
WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents and his
sister, Dorothy; and
WHEREAS, William McCue is survived by his wife; his
daughters, Cynthia J. (husband Lonz) Spears, Christina McCue,

and Cheryl Hinrichs; his grandsons, Bill, Justin, Jason, and
Corey; his three great-grandsons; his niece, Kay Bell; and his
cousins, William Kamm and Nancy Peters; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
his family and friends, the passing of William McCue; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of William McCue as a symbol of our
sincere sympathy.
