2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of William J. "Bill" Slingsby of | ||||||
4 | Bloomington, who passed away on July 19, 2019; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Bill Slingsby was born in Ottawa to Emmett J. and | ||||||
6 | Margaret Twohey Slingsby on April 17, 1941; he graduated from | ||||||
7 | Marquette High School and attended Tri-State University (Trine | ||||||
8 | University) in Angola, Indiana; he married Sandra J. Carr in | ||||||
9 | Ottawa on June 20, 1964; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Bill Slingsby retired as a construction | ||||||
11 | superintendent, having worked on roads, highways, and | ||||||
12 | interstates; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Bill Slingsby enjoyed farming, gardening, lawn | ||||||
14 | work, the outdoors, and vacationing at Longboat Key, Florida; | ||||||
15 | he was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Bloomington | ||||||
16 | Country Club, and St. Mary's Parish in Bloomington; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Bill Slingsby is survived by his wife, Sandy; his | ||||||
18 | brother, Emmett (Janet) Slingsby; his sister, Karin (Joseph) | ||||||
19 | Amodea; and three nephews and two nieces; therefore, be it
| ||||||
20 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL |
