| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Andrea Stoudemire of Chicago, who passed | ||||||
| 4 | away on July 26, 2019; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Andrea Stoudemire was born on the South Side of | ||||||
| 6 | Chicago on August 23, 1983; she graduated from South Shore High | ||||||
| 7 | School; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Andrea Stoudemire worked several jobs to provide | ||||||
| 9 | for her family and found the career of her dreams in the | ||||||
| 10 | customer service field; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Andrea Stoudemire was a member of Mothers Against | ||||||
| 12 | Senseless Killings (MASK), a group that was formed in 2015 | ||||||
| 13 | after three women were shot, one fatally, near the same street | ||||||
| 14 | corner in the Englewood neighborhood; she devoted the last two | ||||||
| 15 | years of her life to fighting gun violence on the streets of | ||||||
| 16 | Englewood; she enjoyed spending time with friends and family, | ||||||
| 17 | cooking, and traveling with her fiance; she cherished her role | ||||||
| 18 | as a mother; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Andrea Stoudemire was preceded in death by her | ||||||
| 20 | mother, Danita Stoudemire; her father, Mr. Young; and her | ||||||
| 21 | grandmother, Joanne Stoudemire; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Andrea Stoudemire is survived by her fiance, | ||||||
| 2 | Dejuan Williams; her daughter, Brinity Johnson; her sons, | ||||||
| 3 | Micheal Johnson and Pierre Brown; her aunts, Carolyn Thornton | ||||||
| 4 | and Yvonne Thornton; her uncle, Charles Stoudemire; and many | ||||||
| 5 | cousins and friends; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 6 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
| 7 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 8 | Andrea Stoudemire and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
| 9 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
| 10 | further
| ||||||
| 11 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 12 | presented to the family of Andrea Stoudemire as an expression | ||||||
| 13 | of our deepest sympathy.
