SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Anthony Paul "Tony" D'Amico, Jr., who
4passed away on September 10, 2013; and
5 WHEREAS, Anthony D'Amico, Jr. had been a lifetime resident
6of Joliet; he was a graduate of Joliet Township High School and
7Purdue University; and
8 WHEREAS, Anthony D'Amico, Jr. proudly served as a member of
9the United States Army; and
10 WHEREAS, Anthony D'Amico, Jr. was a partner in the D'Amico
11Family Restaurants, which includes D'Amico's 214, D'Amico's
12Banquets, and Earl's Cafe; during that time, he was
13instrumental in securing top flight entertainment to Joliet,
14including Louis Armstrong, Phyllis Diller, Count Basie,
15Eloise, and Pat O'Brien; and
16 WHEREAS, Anthony D'Amico, Jr. was an avid and talented
17golfer; and
18 WHEREAS, Anthony D'Amico, Jr. was preceded in death by his
19parents, Anthony, Sr. and Clara D'Amico; and

1 WHEREAS, Anthony D'Amico, Jr. is survived by his brother,
2Earl J. D'Amico; his nieces, Claire and Gianna; his aunt, Mary
3Bertagnoli; and his great-nephews, Alex and Danny Barone;
4therefore, be it
5 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
7family and friends, mourn the passing of Anthony Paul "Tony"
8D'Amico, Jr.; and be it further
9 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Anthony D'Amico, Jr. as an
11expression of our sympathy.
