SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Anthony Paul "Tony" D'Amico, Jr., who
passed away on September 10, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Anthony D'Amico, Jr. had been a lifetime resident
of Joliet; he was a graduate of Joliet Township High School and
Purdue University; and
WHEREAS, Anthony D'Amico, Jr. proudly served as a member of
the United States Army; and
WHEREAS, Anthony D'Amico, Jr. was a partner in the D'Amico
Family Restaurants, which includes D'Amico's 214, D'Amico's
Banquets, and Earl's Cafe; during that time, he was
instrumental in securing top flight entertainment to Joliet,
including Louis Armstrong, Phyllis Diller, Count Basie,
Eloise, and Pat O'Brien; and
WHEREAS, Anthony D'Amico, Jr. was an avid and talented
golfer; and
WHEREAS, Anthony D'Amico, Jr. was preceded in death by his
parents, Anthony, Sr. and Clara D'Amico; and

WHEREAS, Anthony D'Amico, Jr. is survived by his brother,
Earl J. D'Amico; his nieces, Claire and Gianna; his aunt, Mary
Bertagnoli; and his great-nephews, Alex and Danny Barone;
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
family and friends, mourn the passing of Anthony Paul "Tony"
D'Amico, Jr.; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Anthony D'Amico, Jr. as an
expression of our sympathy.
