2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Barbara J. (Bellis) Harpman of Galesburg, | ||||||
4 | formerly of Victoria, who passed away on September 18, 2011; | ||||||
5 | and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, She was born January 16, 1939, the daughter of | ||||||
7 | Joseph G. and Frances (Botruff) Bellis; she married Richard L. | ||||||
8 | Harpman on August 6, 1966, in Wataga; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, She worked as a secretary for many years in | ||||||
10 | Galesburg, working at the State Research Hospital, the Illinois | ||||||
11 | Department of Employment Security, and the Henry C. Hill | ||||||
12 | Correctional Center, before she retired in 1996; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, She was involved in PTA, Brownies, and Girl Scouts | ||||||
14 | as her children grew up; she was a member of Faith Lutheran | ||||||
15 | Church in Wataga, and was a member of Women of the Evangelical | ||||||
16 | Lutheran Church in America; she always had time to talk, | ||||||
17 | enjoyed visiting with people, and loved animals; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; | ||||||
19 | and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Barbara Harpman is survived by her mother, Frances |

1 | Bellis; her son, Mark (Renee) Spenny; her daughters, Julie | ||||||
2 | (Brian) Kaminski, Cara Bannon, and Amy Harpman; her sister, | ||||||
3 | Merrily (Ralph) Sargent; her grandchildren, Brandon and Ambra | ||||||
4 | Haake; and her 4 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

5 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | ||||||
6 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
7 | her family and friends, the passing of Barbara Harpman; and be | ||||||
8 | it further
| ||||||
9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
10 | presented to the family of Barbara Harpman as a symbol of our | ||||||
11 | sincere sympathy.
