| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the passing of Kristine Irene Weisenberger, a longtime | ||||||
4 | resident of Wonder Lake and a devoted special education | ||||||
5 | advocate and educator, on April 4, 2009; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, She was born September 27, 1948, in Woodstock, to | ||||||
7 | the late George and Greta Weisenberger; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Graduating in 1966 from McHenry High School, she | ||||||
9 | went on to earn her B.A. in education from Western Illinois | ||||||
10 | University, her M.S. in education from Northern Illinois | ||||||
11 | University, and Certificate of Advanced Studies from National | ||||||
12 | Louis University; she was appointed to Governor Jim Edgar's | ||||||
13 | Interagency Council on Early Intervention in 1994; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, She was a distinguished and outstanding teacher, a | ||||||
15 | devoted daughter, an adoring sister, an exceptional aunt, and | ||||||
16 | loving godmother; she will be remembered for her love and | ||||||
17 | devotion to her family and exceptional dedication to | ||||||
18 | special-needs children and their families; she was a gifted | ||||||
19 | teacher who touched so many lives throughout Illinois; and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, For more than 27 years, she dedicated her life to | ||||||
21 | discovering a child's full potential; she was the |

1 | program/division manager for Pioneer Center's Early | ||||||
2 | Intervention Birth-3 Program for 14 years and supervisor for | ||||||
3 | SEDOL's Early Intervention program for three years before | ||||||
4 | returning to the classroom to work directly with children; she | ||||||
5 | taught Early Intervention programs at Northern Illinois | ||||||
6 | University, McHenry County College, and Harper College; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, She is survived by her brothers, Kurt (Joanne) | ||||||
9 | Weisenberger, Karl (Mickey) Weisenberger, and Kevin (Kathleen) | ||||||
10 | Weisenberger; her nieces and nephews, Jenna (Sidney) | ||||||
11 | Stromback, Jason (Kari) Weisenberger, Eileen (David) Sussland, | ||||||
12 | Amy (Marty) Robb, Curtis Weisenberger, and Abigail | ||||||
13 | Weisenberger; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Andrew and | ||||||
14 | William Stromback, Jacob and Trevor Sussland, Blake, Ashley, | ||||||
15 | Skylar, and Hunter Weisenberger, and Derek, Sean, and Grant | ||||||
16 | Robb; her aunts; her uncles; her cousins; and numerous friends; | ||||||

18 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | ||||||
19 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
20 | her family and friends, the passing of Kristine Irene | ||||||
21 | Weisenberger; and be it further

22 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
