2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Patricia Anne (Fitzmorris) Floeter of | ||||||
4 | Crystal Lake, who passed away on March 15, 2013; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Patricia Floeter was born on December 27, 1932, to | ||||||
6 | Daniel Michael and Patricia Edith Fitzmorris in Peoria; she was | ||||||
7 | raised in Skokie, attended St. Peter's Grade School, and | ||||||
8 | graduated from Mallinckrodt High School in Wilmette; she | ||||||
9 | received her bachelors degree in chemistry from Mundelein | ||||||
10 | College (now Loyola University) in 1954; she married Conrad F. | ||||||
11 | Floeter on November 27, 1954, at Saint Peter's Catholic Church | ||||||
12 | in Skokie; they spent the first year together in Las Cruces, | ||||||
13 | New Mexico, while stationed at the U.S. Army White Sands | ||||||
14 | Proving Ground; she received her masters at Northern Illinois | ||||||
15 | University in 1973; and

16 | WHEREAS, Patricia Floeter was the first chemist hired by | ||||||
17 | the county for the health department water lab in response to | ||||||
18 | the Clean Water Act of 1971; eventually she began working for | ||||||
19 | Commonwealth Edison and retired as a engineer from Commonwealth | ||||||
20 | Edison, Byron Nuclear Power Station; in retirement, she founded | ||||||
21 | Hazardous Material Management Systems, a consulting and | ||||||
22 | training company for federal and State environmental and safety | ||||||
23 | regulations; and

1 | WHEREAS, Patricia Floeter served on the Algonquin Township | ||||||
2 | Board as a trustee and was subsequently elected supervisor; she | ||||||
3 | was a long-time member of the American Chemical Society, | ||||||
4 | serving a term as a national delegate for the Chicago Section, | ||||||
5 | and was a former member of the Rockford chapter of the American | ||||||
6 | Society of Mechanical Engineers; she was a member of AAUW, the | ||||||
7 | Rotary Club of Crystal Lake Dawnbreakers, a Paul Harris Fellow, | ||||||
8 | the McHenry County Republican Party, and a founding member of | ||||||
9 | the McHenry County Environmental Defenders; she served as | ||||||
10 | chairman of the McHenry County Local Emergency Planning | ||||||
11 | Committee and served on the finance committee of Saint Thomas | ||||||
12 | the Apostle Catholic Church; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Patricia Floeter was preceded in death by her | ||||||
14 | husband of 47 years, Conrad; her parents; her infant grandson, | ||||||
15 | Madison; her sister, Sheila Cardinell; and her brother-in-law, | ||||||
16 | Joseph Floeter; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Patricia Floeter is survived by her children, | ||||||
18 | Conrad (Donna Lee), Mary Kay (Ted Usdin), Daniel (Nancy), John | ||||||
19 | (Judy), Thomas (Rebekah), and William (Deanna); her | ||||||
20 | grandchildren, Anna Rose and Mary Grace Floeter, Ben (Natalie), | ||||||
21 | Luke (Katherine), Ian, and Mara Floeter, Katherine (Kyle) Bush, | ||||||
22 | Lily and Simon Floeter, Ryan and Justin Floeter, and Hannah and | ||||||
23 | Christopher Floeter; her great-grandsons, Oscar and Charlie; |

1 | her sister-in-law, Frances Floeter; her numerous nieces and | ||||||
2 | nephews, and many cousins, especially Ashleigh Staley; she is | ||||||
3 | also survived by Bosnian refugees Denis and Sasha (Heidi) | ||||||
4 | Traup, Rotary Exchange student Paola Zamarron, and many dear | ||||||
5 | friends and neighbors; therefore, be it

6 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | ||||||
7 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
8 | Patricia Floeter, and we extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
9 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
10 | further

11 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
12 | presented to the family of Patricia Floeter as an expression of | ||||||
13 | our deepest sympathy.
