SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Martha Sarah Sehring, who passed away on
March 6, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Martha Sehring was born and raised in Milwaukee,
Wisconsin; she earned her degree in economics from the
University of Wisconsin, where she was a member of the Delta
Gamma sorority; she was a 70-year resident of Joliet; and
WHEREAS, Martha Sehring was a member of Childerguild and a
volunteer at Silver Cross Hospital for over 65 years; she was
active in Women of Rotary; she was also a past president of the
Women's Study Club; and
WHEREAS, Martha Sehring and her late husband were founding
members of the St. Edward the Martyr Episcopal Church; and
WHEREAS, Martha Sehring was preceded in death by her
husband, Henry Arnold Sehring, and her parents, Harriet and
Arthur Lintott; and
WHEREAS, Martha Sehring is survived by her daughter and
son-in-law, Sally (LeRoy) Weaver; their son, LeRoy E. (Chip)
Weaver III, and his daughter, Victoria Anne; her daughter,

Nancy Sehring Johnson and her children, Julie (Scott) Jackson,
Christine (Jay) Jarvie, and Babs Sehring; and her niece, Cynde
Jahneke (Dale) Seegers and their children, Matt and Beth;
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
her family and friends, the passing of Martha Sarah Sehring;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Martha Sehring as an expression of
our sympathy.
