2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of George Joseph Patterson Jr. of | ||||||
4 | Bloomington, who passed away on January 31, 2019; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, George Patterson Jr. was born in Bloomington to | ||||||
6 | George and Oleander Ross Patterson Sr. on August 30, 1944; he | ||||||
7 | proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War | ||||||
8 | and was stationed in Germany; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, George Patterson Jr. worked for Eureka Williams | ||||||
10 | for over 15 years; he then worked for Davis Cleaning for over | ||||||
11 | 15 years and retired in 2010; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, George Patterson Jr. was a member of the Godfrey | ||||||
13 | L. Miller Elks Lodge 1776 for over 45 years; he was an avid | ||||||
14 | golfer and fisherman and enjoyed bowling; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, George Patterson Jr. was preceded in death by his | ||||||
16 | parents and his brother, Ferdinand Patterson; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, George Patterson Jr. is survived by his siblings, | ||||||
18 | Minnie (James) Patterson-Farris, Daniel (Marilyn) Patterson, | ||||||
19 | and Willie Patterson; his nieces and nephews, Sylvia Neal, | ||||||
20 | James L. (Drue) Farris, Christine E. (Leon) Sims, Keith A. |

10 | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | ||||||
