2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of
Dale Henry Pickerill of Glen Carbon, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on February 23, 2011; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Dale Pickerill was born on December 29, 1946, in | ||||||
6 | Litchfield; his parents were James Wendall Pickerill and Mary | ||||||
7 | Eileen (Floyd) Pickerill; he married Elizabeth "Betty" | ||||||
8 | Schneider on December 31, 1980; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Dale Pickerill graduated from Mt. Olive High | ||||||
10 | School in 1965; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Dale Pickerill was an extremely proud member of | ||||||
12 | Laborer's Local #338 in Wood River for 46 1/2 years; he served | ||||||
13 | in the field as a laborer for 32 years, served as a member of | ||||||
14 | the Executive Board, and served as Secretary-Treasurer of the | ||||||
15 | organization for 5 years; he retired from Laborer's Local #338 | ||||||
16 | as Business Manager in January of 2004; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Dale Pickerill served as an Executive Board Member | ||||||
18 | of the Southwestern Illinois District Council and as a Trustee | ||||||
19 | for Central Laborer's Health and Welfare; and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Dale Pickerill was very involved in the labor |

| |||||||
1 | movement and continually studied the labor movement and its | ||||||
2 | history; and
| ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, Dale Pickerill was a past member of the Church of | ||||||
4 | the Ascension in Mt. Olive and St. Barbara's Church in | ||||||
5 | Batchtown; he was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in | ||||||
6 | Livingston at the time of his passing; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Dale Pickerill was an avid fisherman; he was also | ||||||
8 | very interested in his family history, having spent the last | ||||||
9 | four years researching and compiling a family tree and album; | ||||||
10 | being of Irish ancestry, he was fascinated by all things Irish; | ||||||
11 | and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Dale Pickerill was preceded in death by his | ||||||
13 | parents; his brothers, James Wendall Pickerill Jr., Kenneth | ||||||
14 | Eugene Pickerill, and Larry Dean Pickerill; his mother-in-law | ||||||
15 | and father-in-law, Allen and Gertrude Schneider; his five | ||||||
16 | brothers-in-law; and his two nieces; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Dale Pickerill is survived by his wife, Elizabeth | ||||||
18 | Pickerill; his sons, Robert Scott (Stephanie) Pickerill, | ||||||
19 | Patrick Wade Pickerill, and Preston Richard (Amy Elizabeth) | ||||||
20 | Hall; his daughters, Leslie Ann Pomatto, Kerra Leigh Deaton, | ||||||
21 | and Kerri Jean Niehaus; his grandsons, Zackory Alexander | ||||||
22 | Deaton, Braden Dale, and Bryce Arthur Niehaus; his |

1 | granddaughters, Ashley Marie (Larry) Rayburn, Amanda Jo | ||||||
2 | Pomatto, Audrey Alexandria Pickerill, Alaina Elizabeth Hall, | ||||||
3 | and Lauren Elizabeth Bailey; his great-granddaughter, Katlynn | ||||||
4 | Jo Pomatto; his brother, William (Rosemarie) Pickerill; his | ||||||
5 | sisters, Loralei Scrianko, MaryAnn (Bruce) Scopel, Betty | ||||||
6 | (John) Vidakovich, Geraldine (Richard) Bayse, Connie (Steve) | ||||||
7 | Provost, Norma (Ernie) Parish, and Anita Darneal; and his | ||||||
8 | numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

9 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | ||||||
10 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
11 | his family and friends, the passing of Dale Henry Pickerill; | ||||||
12 | and be it further

13 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
14 | presented to the family of Dale Pickerill as an expression of | ||||||
15 | our sympathy.
