2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Erika Lyn Dial of Decatur, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on November 29, 2014; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Erika Dial was born in Decatur on May 11, 1969 to | ||||||
6 | Allan Kent and Myra Joy (nee Strader) Coy; she graduated from | ||||||
7 | MacArthur High School in 1987 and attended Richland Community | ||||||
8 | College, majoring in child care; she married Matthew Eugene | ||||||
9 | "Matt" Dial on April 1, 1989 at Decatur First Nazarene; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Erika Dial worked at the First National Bank of | ||||||
11 | Decatur, the Humpty Dumpty Child Development Center, | ||||||
12 | Enterprise Elementary School, and the Kids-N-Fitness child | ||||||
13 | care center; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Erika Dial enjoyed bowling for many years, mainly | ||||||
15 | at the former Eldorado Bowling Alley; she was affectionately | ||||||
16 | known as "Mama Dial" to many; she loved her kids more than | ||||||
17 | anything and accompanied them to all their school events and | ||||||
18 | activities; she was thrilled to become a grandmother, welcoming | ||||||
19 | little Sophia Patricia Dial into her heart and arms; and

20 | WHEREAS, Erika Dial was preceded in death by her father, | ||||||
21 | Allan; her father-in-law, David Eugene Dial; her first cousin, |

1 | Scottie Strader; and her grandparents; and
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, Erika Dial is survived by her husband of 25 years, | ||||||
3 | Matt Dial; their son, Nic Dial and his family, Samantha and | ||||||
4 | 6-month-old Sophia Dial; their daughter, Elizabeth Dial and her | ||||||
5 | special friend, Chris Lowe; her mother, Myra J. Coy; her | ||||||
6 | siblings, David Kent Coy, Diana (Butch) Snyder, Kevin (Judy) | ||||||
7 | Coy, Karen (Brian) Stock, and Ellen (Howie) Baker; her | ||||||
8 | mother-in-law, Nancy (Dan) McCain; her brother-in-law, Justin | ||||||
9 | (Jennifer) Dial and their son, David Dial; her best friend of | ||||||
10 | many years, Lynette Hunt; a special family friend, Danny | ||||||
11 | Whipple; her special cousin, Stefanie Gardner; her nieces and | ||||||
12 | nephews, Tony Snyder, Keely Fiore, John Snyder, Andy Coy, Danny | ||||||
13 | Coy, Sam Coy, Rachel Malachuk, Aaron Stock, Megan Stock, Brett | ||||||
14 | Stock, Aimee Younker, Allison Baker, and Adam Baker, plus 13 | ||||||
15 | and another-on-the way in the next generation; therefore, be it

16 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
17 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
18 | Erika Lyn Dial, and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
19 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
20 | further

21 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
22 | presented to the family of Erika Dial as an expression of our | ||||||
23 | deepest sympathy.
