SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Ariana Marie Scoggins of Alton, who
4passed away on February 9, 2021; and
5 WHEREAS, Ariana Scoggins was born in Alton on February 14,
62006; she was the daughter of Angela Scoggins; and
7 WHEREAS, Ariana Scoggins attended Alton High School, where
8she earned an honorary degree as a member of the class of 2024
9on February 3, 2021; and
10 WHEREAS, Ariana Scoggins was a member of the Upper Alton
11Baptist Church; she loved singing, dancing, and complimenting
12others; she fulfilled her life's purpose by loving well and
13being kind; and
14 WHEREAS, Ariana Scoggins was preceded in death by her
15great-grandparents, Patricia and Jerry Scoggins, John and
16Helen Rodell, and Tom Saxton; and
17 WHEREAS, Ariana Scoggins is survived by her mother; her
18sister, Juniper Scoggins; her grandparents, Carol and Jeff
19Saxton; her great-grandmother, Jeanette Saxton; and her aunts
20and uncles, Torrey and Fallyn Saxton, Molly Saxton, J.D.

2 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4Ariana Marie Scoggins and extend our sincere condolences to
5her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
6further
7 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Ariana Scoggins as an expression of
9our deepest sympathy.
