2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of James Peter Whitcomb of Des Plaines, | ||||||
4 | formerly of Evanston, who passed away on January 4, 2023; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, James Whitcomb was born to Julius and Rose | ||||||
6 | (Loizzo) Whitcomb in Evanston on July 22, 1941; he served in | ||||||
7 | the U.S. Army National Guard; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Since 1982, James Whitcomb was a board member of | ||||||
9 | the Des Plaines History Center; during this time, he served as | ||||||
10 | the organization's president, vice president, and secretary; | ||||||
11 | and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, James Whitcomb was preceded in death by his | ||||||
13 | parents; his brother, John Whitcomb; and his sister, Geraldine | ||||||
14 | Rhein; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, James Whitcomb is survived by his wife of 40 | ||||||
16 | years, Vickie (Therrien) Whitcomb; his son, James P. (Rachel) | ||||||
17 | Whitcomb Jr.; his grandchildren, Jack and Olivia Whitcomb and | ||||||
18 | Alex Booker; and his brothers, Thomas and Charles; therefore, | ||||||
19 | be it
