SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Warren L. Dixon, Jr.; and
4 WHEREAS, Warren Dixon, Jr. was born on August 21, 1946 and
5grew up in Aurora, where he graduated from Marmion Academy; and
6 WHEREAS, Warren Dixon, Jr. served his country as a member
7of the United States Navy during the Vietnam War; and
8 WHEREAS, Warren Dixon, Jr. attended Southern Illinois
9University and North Central College; after college, he entered
10the real estate industry, following his parents' footsteps as a
11broker for the family business Dixon Realty; in the 1970s, he
12founded Dixon Appraisal; and
13 WHEREAS, In 1976, Warren Dixon, Jr. was hired as a
14commercial fee appraiser for Naperville Township; 8 years
15later, he ran for the elected position of Township Assessor and
16won, taking the seat in 1985; he would remain as Township
17Assessor until his son took office in 2013; and
18 WHEREAS, Warren Dixon, Jr. served as coach for the
19Naperville Knights Youth Football program; and

1 WHEREAS, Warren Dixon, Jr. enjoyed playing golf and
2cheering on the Notre Dame football team with his wife of 42
3years, Katie, whom he met at a Notre Dame football game; and
4 WHEREAS, Warren Dixon, Jr. is survived by 3 children and 5
5grandchildren; therefore, be it
6 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
8family and friends, mourn the passing of Warren L. Dixon, Jr.;
9and be it further
10 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Warren Dixon, Jr. as an expression
12of our sympathy.
