Bill Title: Amends the Rivers, Lakes, and Streams Act. Provides that certified copies of data, surveys, charts, high and low water marks, river gauges, and information with reference to navigability of public bodies of water in this State collected by the Department of Natural Resources shall be self-authenticating and received in court as evidence of the facts thereby shown.

1 | AN ACT concerning transportation.

2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| |||||||||||||||||||
3 | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | Section 5. The Rivers, Lakes, and Streams Act is amended by | |||||||||||||||||||
5 | changing Section 11 as follows:

6 | (615 ILCS 5/11) (from Ch. 19, par. 58)

7 | Sec. 11.
The Department of Natural Resources shall obtain | |||||||||||||||||||
8 | all possible data,
surveys, charts, high and low water marks, | |||||||||||||||||||
9 | and river gauges, and
information with reference to the | |||||||||||||||||||
10 | navigability of any of the public bodies
of water of the State, | |||||||||||||||||||
11 | and keep the same at all times available for public
inspection, | |||||||||||||||||||
12 | and aid in extending the navigation of any of the public bodies

13 | of water of the State. Such information shall be furnished at | |||||||||||||||||||
14 | its actual
cost to any person desiring the same. Certified | |||||||||||||||||||
15 | copies of such data shall be self-authenticating and shall
be | |||||||||||||||||||
16 | received in court as evidence of the facts thereby shown.
