AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 3255
2 AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 3255 as follows:
3on page 5, line 6, after the period, by inserting the
4following:
5"However, the Secretary shall take reasonable steps to ensure
6the veteran still resides in this State at the time of the
7renewal. These steps may include requiring the veteran to
8provide additional documentation or to appear at a Secretary of
9State facility. To identify veterans who are eligible for this
10exemption, the Secretary shall compare the list of the persons
11who have been issued a decal or device to the list of persons
12who have been issued a disabled veteran vehicle registration
13plate under Section 3-609 of this Code, or who are identified
14as a veteran on their driver's license under Section 6-110 of
15this Code or on their identification card under Section 4 of
16the Illinois Identification Card Act.".
