Bill Title: Amends the Criminal Code of 2012. Provides that the period within which a prosecution must be commenced does not include any period from the time the evidence of a sexual assault is collected using the Illinois State Police sexual assault evidence collection kit until the completion of the analysis of the collected evidence.

AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2609
2 AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2609 on page 2, by
3replacing lines 15 through 18 with the following:
4 "(7) the sexual assault evidence is collected and
5 submitted to the Illinois State Police until the completion
6 of the analysis of the submitted evidence."; and
7on page 3, by inserting immediately below line 7 the following:
8 ""Sexual assault evidence" has the meaning as ascribed
9 to it in Section 5 of the Sexual Assault Evidence
10 Submission Act.".
