Bill Title: Amends the Criminal Code of 2012. Provides that the period within which a prosecution must be commenced does not include any period from the time the evidence of a sexual assault is collected using the Illinois State Police sexual assault evidence collection kit until the completion of the analysis of the collected evidence.

2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2609 on page 2, by | ||||||
3 | replacing lines 15 through 18 with the following: | ||||||
4 | " (7) the sexual assault evidence is collected and | ||||||
5 | submitted to the Illinois State Police until the completion | ||||||
6 | of the analysis of the submitted evidence. "; and

7 | on page 3, by inserting immediately below line 7 the following: | ||||||
8 | " "Sexual assault evidence" has the meaning as ascribed | ||||||
9 | to it in Section 5 of the Sexual Assault Evidence | ||||||
10 | Submission Act. ".
