Bill Title: Amends the Department of Transportation Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that whenever the Department of Transportation shall replace any used vehicle, it shall first notify and give the Department of Central Management Services the opportunity to receive the vehicles by inter-agency equipment transfer. Provides that if the vehicles are not acquired by the Department of Central Management Services, the Department of Natural Resources shall be given the opportunity to receive the vehicles by inter-agency equipment transfer. Provides that after these requirements have been met, units of local government shall be given the opportunity to purchase the vehicles. Effective January 1, 2012.

1 | AN ACT concerning State government.

2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| ||||||
3 | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | Section 5. The Department of Transportation Law of the
| ||||||
5 | Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by changing | ||||||
6 | Section 2705-575 as follows:

8 | Sec. 2705-575. Sale of used vehicles. Whenever the | ||||||
9 | Department has deemed a shall replace any

passenger automobiles, light duty
trucks, | ||||||
6 | and heavy duty trucks , and other self-propelled motorized | ||||||
7 | equipment (in
excess of 25 horse-power) and attachments .
