HOUSE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
Representatives wish to congratulate the West Prairie High
School volleyball team, the Cyclones, on winning the 2016
Illinois High School Association Class 1A State Championship;
and
WHEREAS, The Cyclones won their first State title with a
victory over the Eastland Cougars on November 12, 2016 at
Redbird Arena in Normal; and
WHEREAS, The Cyclones compiled a season record of 35 wins,
five loses, and one tie on their way to the championship; and
WHEREAS, The Cyclones are coached by Head Coach, Teri Paul,
and Assistant Coaches, Caleb Hall, and Drew Snyder; and
WHEREAS, The Cyclones are Maggie Torrance, Hunter
Griffith, Cora Vyhnanek, Erica Clark, Karlee Herman, Julie
Shoemaker, Hannah Davison, Courtney Butterfield, Emily Kitch,
Peyton Bowman, Hannah Thompson, Pema Zellmann, Kendra Hopping,
Maddie Kieffer, Emily Richardson, Kyah Beck, and Julia
Huffmier; the student managers are Emily Huffmier and Emily
Bartlett; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
congratulate the West Prairie High School volleyball team, the
Cyclones, on winning the 2016 Illinois High School Association
Class 1A State Championship, and we wish them many more
successful seasons; and be it further
RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
presented to the Cyclones as a symbol of our respect and
esteem.
