| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Deborah Ann Simental on | ||||||
| 4 | the occasion of her retirement from the Illinois State Police | ||||||
| 5 | on September 30, 2016; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Deborah Simental graduated from Cadet Class 88 in | ||||||
| 7 | 1990 and was assigned to District
3/Chicago; she then was | ||||||
| 8 | assigned to the Operational Services Command and the Statewide
| ||||||
| 9 | Criminal Conspiracy Unit; she was appointed as a Special Agent | ||||||
| 10 | in 1996 for Zone
1 Investigation; she was promoted to Sergeant | ||||||
| 11 | in 1998 for the Division of Internal Investigation, Master | ||||||
| 12 | Sergeant in 2000, and Lieutenant in 2007; she was appointed as | ||||||
| 13 | Division of
Internal Investigation's Northern Commander in | ||||||
| 14 | 2010 and promoted to Captain in
2011 and Colonel in 2014; and

| 15 | WHEREAS, Deborah Simental was a member of the Illinois | ||||||
| 16 | Association of Chiefs of Police, the
International Association | ||||||
| 17 | of Chiefs of Police, the National Association of
Women in Law | ||||||
| 18 | Enforcement, the Illinois Homicide Investigations Association,
| ||||||
| 19 | and the South Suburban Chiefs of Police; she helped with events | ||||||
| 20 | for
the Illinois State Police Heritage Foundation and the | ||||||
| 21 | Special Olympics; and
| ||||||
| 22 | WHEREAS, Deborah Simental has one daughter, Sarah, and one | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | son, Matthew; she earned her Bachelor of Liberal Arts and | ||||||
| 2 | Science in 1988; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 3 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 4 | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 5 | congratulate Deborah Ann Simental on her retirement from the | ||||||
| 6 | Illinois State Police and wish her the best in all her future | ||||||
| 7 | endeavors; and be it further
| ||||||
| 8 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 9 | presented to Deborah Simental as an expression of our esteem | ||||||
| 10 | and respect.
