2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of James E. | ||||||
4 | Mayer of Geneva, who passed away on October 26, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, James Mayer was born in Chicago to Harry and Nora | ||||||
6 | (Rosenbarger) Mayer on December 27, 1929; he served in the U.S. | ||||||
7 | Army during the Korean War and received both his bachelor's and | ||||||
8 | master's degrees from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb; | ||||||
9 | he received a Master of Business Administration from the | ||||||
10 | University of Illinois at Chicago; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, James Mayer taught for many years at Coultrap | ||||||
12 | Middle School in Geneva; he also served as a Third Ward | ||||||
13 | alderman on the Geneva City Council; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, James Mayer was an avid sports fan, especially of | ||||||
15 | the Chicago Cubs and Blackhawks; he always enjoyed a good meal | ||||||
16 | and spending time with family and friends; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, James Mayer was preceded in death by his parents; | ||||||
18 | his sister, Faye Mallory; and his son, Tom; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, James Mayer is survived by his wife of 62 years, | ||||||
20 | Mary (Slaymaker); his children, Linda (Scott) Abernethy, |

1 | Andrew (Lillian), and Amy (Davin Wickstrom) Mayer; his | ||||||
2 | daughter-in-law, Cynthia Mayer; his grandchildren, Ben (Heidi) | ||||||

4 | (Peter) Berardi, Alexander Mayer, and Nathaniel Wickstrom; | ||||||

7 | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
8 | mourn the passing of James E. Mayer and extend our sincere | ||||||
9 | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | ||||||
10 | him; and be it further
