HOUSE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
Representatives wish to congratulate Margaret "Peggy" Frank on
the occasion of her retirement as the executive director of
Naper Settlement after 33 years; and
WHEREAS, Peggy Frank helped the 19th-century
living-history museum make great strides in restoring
buildings and making the settlement grounds a welcoming place
for visitors; and
WHEREAS, Peggy Frank helped oversee construction of the
Pre-Emption House Visitor Center and the renovation of the
Martin Mitchell Mansion; her proudest moments came in 2002 when
the settlement received accreditation from the American
Association of Museums; and
WHEREAS, Peggy Frank is a Chicago native; she worked for
the Historical Society of Delaware before coming to Naperville
in 1979 as the settlement's first paid curator; and
WHEREAS, Peggy Frank's leadership helped the museum grow
from a grass-roots local effort to a professional organization;
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
we wish to congratulate Peggy Frank on her retirement from the
Naper Settlement; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to Peggy Frank as an expression of our esteem and
respect.
