2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Margaret "Peggy" Frank on | ||||||
4 | the occasion of her retirement as the executive director of | ||||||
5 | Naper Settlement after 33 years; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Peggy Frank helped the 19th-century | ||||||
7 | living-history museum make great strides in restoring | ||||||
8 | buildings and making the settlement grounds a welcoming place | ||||||
9 | for visitors; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Peggy Frank helped oversee construction of the | ||||||
11 | Pre-Emption House Visitor Center and the renovation of the | ||||||
12 | Martin Mitchell Mansion; her proudest moments came in 2002 when | ||||||
13 | the settlement received accreditation from the American | ||||||
14 | Association of Museums; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Peggy Frank is a Chicago native; she worked for | ||||||
16 | the Historical Society of Delaware before coming to Naperville | ||||||
17 | in 1979 as the settlement's first paid curator; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Peggy Frank's leadership helped the museum grow | ||||||
19 | from a grass-roots local effort to a professional organization; | ||||||
20 | therefore, be it

1 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
2 | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
3 | we wish to congratulate Peggy Frank on her retirement from the | ||||||
4 | Naper Settlement; and be it further

5 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
6 | presented to Peggy Frank as an expression of our esteem and | ||||||
7 | respect.
