2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Scott A. Reimers on | ||||||
4 | receiving the 2018 Rail Splitter Award; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, The Central Illinois Chapter of the American | ||||||
6 | Society for Public Administration established the Rail | ||||||
7 | Splitter
Public Service Award to pay tribute to public servants | ||||||
8 | (government and nonprofit) whose careers exhibit the
highest | ||||||
9 | standard of excellence, dedication, and accomplishment; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Scott Reimers is Assistant Vice President of State | ||||||
11 | Legislative Affairs for the Illinois Medical Society; he served | ||||||
12 | with the Illinois General Assembly for over 20
years; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Scott Reimers began his career in state government | ||||||
14 | as a committee and budget staff member for the Illinois House | ||||||
15 | of
Representatives Republican Caucus; he coordinated several | ||||||
16 | political campaigns for Illinois House seats and in 1999 was | ||||||
17 | appointed
Director of Research Staff; later, he served as | ||||||
18 | Deputy Chief of Staff for
Public Policy and then Chief of Staff | ||||||
19 | for the House
Republican Leader from 2011 to 2015; and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Scott Reimers was inducted into the Samuel E. Gove | ||||||
21 | Legislative Staff Intern Hall of Fame in 2012; and

1 | WHEREAS, Scott Reimers is an active member of Blessed | ||||||
2 | Sacrament Parish in
Springfield; he is committed to his | ||||||
3 | community, chairing a capital campaign and successfully | ||||||
4 | raising $5.4
million to expand the church and school campus; he | ||||||
5 | is an active board member of the Northern Illinois
University | ||||||
6 | Alumni Association, where he earned his bachelor's degree in | ||||||
7 | 1993; he earned a
Master in Public Administration from the | ||||||
8 | University of Illinois at Springfield in 1994; he and his wife, | ||||||
9 | Lori, live in Springfield with their children, Sophie and
| ||||||
10 | Andrew; therefore, be it
| ||||||
11 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
12 | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
13 | congratulate Scott A. Reimers on receiving the 2018 Rail | ||||||
14 | Splitter Award; and be it further

15 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
16 | presented to Scott Reimers as a symbol of our respect and | ||||||
17 | esteem.
