2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are deeply saddened to learn of the death of | ||||||
4 | Marge Friedman; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Marge Friedman's passing leaves a hole in the | ||||||
6 | hearts of all who knew and loved her, as well as the community | ||||||
7 | of Park Forest, where she served as a Village Clerk and | ||||||
8 | Trustee; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Marge Friedman's commitment to serving her | ||||||
10 | community also led her to work alongside former Illinois State | ||||||
11 | Representative Michael Getty and former United States | ||||||
12 | Representative George Sangmeister; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Marge Friedman was known for her community | ||||||
14 | involvement and commitment to gender equality, actively | ||||||
15 | encouraging women to get involved in civic and political | ||||||
16 | activities; she also worked to further her deeply held beliefs | ||||||
17 | by repeatedly serving as a delegate to the Democratic National | ||||||
18 | Convention; and

19 | WHEREAS, Marge Friedman was known as a kind, hospitable | ||||||
20 | soul, always opening her home to others for countless events, | ||||||
21 | gatherings and potluck dinners; and

1 | WHEREAS, Marge Friedman is survived by her husband, Dr. | ||||||
2 | George Scherr; her children, Julie Ehrlich, Joel, and Jeremy; | ||||||
3 | her 6 grandchildren; and her many nieces and nephews; | ||||||
4 | therefore, be it

5 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
6 | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
7 | we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of | ||||||
8 | Marge Friedman; and be it further
| ||||||
9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
10 | presented to the family of Marge Friedman as an expression of | ||||||
11 | our deepest sympathy and condolences.
