| 3 | Illinois Chapters of The Links, Incorporated will attend the | ||||||
| 4 | organization's Illinois Links Legislative Day at the State | ||||||
| 5 | Capitol on April 17, 2024; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, The Links, Incorporated is an international, | ||||||
| 7 | not-for-profit corporation that was established in 1946 for | ||||||
| 8 | the purposes of education, civic, and cultural enhancement; | ||||||
| 9 | and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, The Links, Incorporated has a membership of more | ||||||
| 11 | than 17,000 professional women in 299 chapters located in 41 | ||||||
| 12 | states, in the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of the | ||||||
| 13 | Bahamas, and the United Kingdom, who are influential decision | ||||||
| 14 | makers and opinion leaders; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Members of The Links, Incorporated provide over | ||||||
| 16 | one million service hours annually in five primary | ||||||
| 17 | programmatic areas, known as Services to Youth, The Arts, | ||||||
| 18 | National Trends and Services, International Trends and | ||||||
| 19 | Services, and Health and Human Services; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, The mission statement of The Links, Incorporated | ||||||
| 21 | is "Friends Transforming Communities Through Service"; and

| 1 | WHEREAS, The mission of The Links, Incorporated is | ||||||
| 2 | realized daily in programs and service; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, The legislative day at the Capitol is a component | ||||||
| 4 | of transformational programming on legislative issues and | ||||||
| 5 | public affairs for The Links, Incorporated; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, The Central Area of The Links, Incorporated is | ||||||
| 7 | comprised of 72 chapters in 17 states; and

| 8 | WHEREAS, The Illinois Chapters represented include Central | ||||||
| 9 | Illinois (IL) Chapter, Chicago (IL) Chapter, Gateway (IL) | ||||||
| 10 | Chapter, Harbor Lites (IL) Chapter, Hoffman Estates (IL) | ||||||
| 11 | Chapter, Lake Shore (IL) Chapter, North Shore (IL) Chapter, | ||||||

| 1 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 2 | HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 3 | we declare April 17, 2024 as Links Day in Illinois and | ||||||
| 4 | congratulate Central Area Director Sheila R. Brown and the | ||||||
