1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are saddened to hear of the passing of Canton | ||||||
4 | Police Department K-9 Officer Halo Vom Haus Beal, and wish to | ||||||
5 | honor her contributions to the Department and the community; | ||||||
6 | and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Halo Vom Haus Beal was born on September 28, 2005; | ||||||
8 | she was assigned to Officer Matt Freehil and was trained at the | ||||||
9 | Illinois State Police K-9 Training Facility in Pawnee; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Halo became a member of the Canton Police | ||||||
11 | Department in February 2007; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, While serving the Canton community, Halo helped | ||||||
13 | take thousands of drugs off the streets and made hundreds of | ||||||
14 | arrests; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Halo's fellow officers said she was small in | ||||||
16 | stature, but possessed the heart of a lion; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Halo served her Department, the City of Canton, | ||||||
18 | and the surrounding communities faithfully and courageously; | ||||||
19 | and

1 | WHEREAS, Hallo suffered a stroke from which she never fully | ||||||
2 | recovered; she passed away on October 14, 2013 and was laid to | ||||||
3 | rest in a private ceremony; therefore, be it
| ||||||
4 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
5 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
6 | we honor Halo Vom Haus Beal for her courage and service to our | ||||||
7 | community; and be it further
| ||||||
8 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
9 | presented to Officer Matt Freehil and the Canton Police | ||||||
10 | Department as an expression of our respect and deepest | ||||||
11 | sympathies.
