2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Rev. | ||||||
4 | Leslie H. Perkins, Sr., who passed away on June 25, 2015; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Rev. Perkins was born in Chicago on October 11, | ||||||
6 | 1941; he attended elementary school in Maywood and graduated | ||||||
7 | from Proviso East High School; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Rev. Perkins retired from the postal service in | ||||||
9 | January of 2013; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Rev. Perkins was an ordained minister under the | ||||||
11 | leadership of Rev. H. McNealty of 1st Baptist Church of Melrose | ||||||
12 | Park over 40 years ago; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Rev. Perkins is survived by his wife, the | ||||||
14 | Honorable Mayor Edwenna Perkins; his 3 children, Anita | ||||||
15 | Perkins-Tate, Dr. Thea Perkins, and Leslie Perkins, Jr.; his 2 | ||||||
16 | granddaughters; and his 2 great-grandchildren; therefore, be | ||||||
17 | it

18 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
19 | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
20 | mourn the passing of Rev. Leslie H. Perkins, Sr., and extend |

1 | our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who | ||||||
2 | knew and loved him; and be it further
| ||||||
3 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
