2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Morton High | ||||||
4 | School Lady Potters on their remarkable 2018-2019 season, | ||||||
5 | finishing with a record of 33 wins and three losses and the | ||||||
6 | Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Class 3A Girls | ||||||
7 | Basketball State Championship; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, The Lady Potters had a successful season with | ||||||
9 | several impressive highlights, including an undefeated 14-0 | ||||||
10 | Mid-Illini Conference Championship; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, The Lady Potters extended their impressive | ||||||
12 | league-winning streak to 47 consecutive wins in Mid-Illini | ||||||
13 | play; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, The Lady Potters were the IHSA Morton Regional | ||||||
15 | Champions, the IHSA IVC Chillicothe Sectional Champions, and | ||||||
16 | the IHSA Coal City Super Sectional Champions; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, The Lady Potters won the IHSA 3A State | ||||||
18 | Championship, finishing this campaign with two noteworthy wins | ||||||
19 | in the Final Four, including a semi-final win over Nazareth | ||||||
20 | Academy with a score of 65-51 and a win against Glenbard South | ||||||
21 | in the Class 3A State Championship game with a score of 35-21; |

2 | WHEREAS, The Lady Potters have now won their fourth State | ||||||
3 | Title in the past five seasons; and

4 | WHEREAS, The Lady Potters head coach is Bob Becker, who has | ||||||
5 | held the position for 20 years and has a 479-149 record; the | ||||||
6 | assistant coaches are Megan Hasler, Bill Davis, and Brooke | ||||||
7 | Bisping; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, The Lady Potters team seniors are Tenley Dowell, | ||||||
9 | Bridget Wood, Megan Gold, Addi Cox, Kathryn Reiman, and Claire | ||||||
10 | Kraft; the juniors are Maddy Becker, Lindsey Dullard, Courtney | ||||||
11 | Jones, Peyton Dearing, MaKenna Baughman, and Olivia Remmert; | ||||||
12 | the team also includes sophomore Raquel Frakes and freshman | ||||||
13 | Katie Krupa; and

14 | WHEREAS, The Lady Potters serve as models of hard work, | ||||||
15 | perseverance, and strong moral character for the people of the | ||||||
16 | State; therefore, be it

17 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
18 | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
19 | we congratulate the Morton High School Lady Potters on their | ||||||
20 | successful 2018-2019 season and on winning the Illinois High | ||||||
21 | School Association Class 3A Girls Basketball State |
