1 | HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, It is highly fitting that we pay honor and respect
| ||||||
3 | to the truly great individuals who have served our country, and
| ||||||
4 | in doing so, have gone above and beyond the call of duty to
| ||||||
5 | make the ultimate sacrifice for our nation; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Kerry Michael Bugajsky joined the United States | ||||||
7 | Army on January 16, 1967; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Specialist Fourth Class Bugajsky served as a | ||||||
9 | mortar man with C Company, 4th Battalion, 23rd Infantry, 25th | ||||||
10 | Infantry Division in the Iron Triangle in Vietnam; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Specialist Fourth Class Bugajsky died on January | ||||||
12 | 19, 1968 when he was hit during heavy mortar fire in the Chu | ||||||
13 | Chi area of Vietnam; therefore, be it
| ||||||
14 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
15 | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE | ||||||
16 | SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that we designate the portion of | ||||||
17 | Route 14 between Christopher and Benton as the "SP4 Kerry M. | ||||||
18 | Bugajsky Memorial Highway"; and be it further
| ||||||
19 | RESOLVED, That the Illinois Department of Transportation
| ||||||
20 | is requested to erect at suitable locations, consistent with

1 | State and federal regulations, appropriate plaques or signs
| ||||||
2 | giving notice of the name the "SP4 Kerry M. Bugajsky Memorial | ||||||
3 | Highway"; and be it further
| ||||||
4 | RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
| ||||||
5 | presented to the family of Specialist Fourth Class Bugajsky and | ||||||
6 | the Secretary of the Illinois Department of Transportation.
