Bill Title: Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that a person who, while operating a snowplow on a State or local street, road or highway, hits a publicly owned or privately owned mailbox as a result of the person's acts or omissions shall be issued a citation on the person's driving record. Provides that a person issued a citation may respond to the citation in person or by any method allowed by law.

625 ILCS 5/11-1433 new

Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. 1 AN ACT concerning transportation.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding
5Section 11-1433 as follows:
6 (625 ILCS 5/11-1433 new)
7 Sec. 11-1433. Citation for hitting a mailbox with a
8snowplow. A person who, while operating a snowplow on a State
9or local street, road or highway, hits a publicly owned or
10privately owned mailbox as a result of the person's acts or
11omissions shall be issued a citation on the person's driving
12record. A person issued a citation under this Section may
13respond to the citation in person or by any method allowed by
14law.
