Bill Title: Creates the Military Service Members Parking Space Act. Provides that each State agency and constitutional office shall, at each location, designate at least one parking space on its property, as near to the front entrance as possible, for use by military service members only. Provides that no person shall park in the designated parking space unless the person is a veteran, active duty member, or member of a reserve component of a branch of the United States Armed Forces. Effective immediately.

New Act

Creates the Military Service Members Parking Space Act. 1 AN ACT concerning transportation.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the
5Military Service Members Parking Space Act.
6 Section 5. Parking spaces for military service members.
7 (a) Each State agency and constitutional office shall, at
8each location, designate at least one parking space on its
9property, as near to the front entrance as possible, for use by
10military service members only.
11 (b) The designated parking spaces shall be indicated by a
12sign stating "Armed Forces Only Parking" with the seal of each
13branch of the United States Armed Forces.
14 (c) No person shall park in the designated parking space
15created under this Act unless the person is a veteran, active
16duty member, or member of a reserve component of a branch of
17the United States Armed Forces.
18 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
19becoming law.
