Bill Title: Amends the Counties Code. Authorizes a county to enter into voluntary agreements with the owners of property within the unincorporated areas of the county to provide for contractual assessments to finance the installation of distributed generation renewable energy sources or energy efficiency improvements that are permanently fixed to real property. Effective immediately.

| 1 | AN ACT concerning local government.
| ||||||
| 2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| ||||||
| 3 | represented in the General Assembly:
| ||||||
| 4 | Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by adding Section | ||||||
| 5 | 5-1132 as follows:
| ||||||
| 6 | (55 ILCS 5/5-1132 new) | ||||||
| 7 | Sec. 5-1132. Contractual assessments; renewable energy | ||||||
| 8 | sources. A county may enter into voluntary agreements with the | ||||||
| 9 | owners of property within the unincorporated areas of the | ||||||
| 10 | county to provide for contractual assessments to finance the | ||||||
| 11 | installation of distributed generation renewable energy | ||||||
| 12 | sources or energy efficiency improvements that are permanently | ||||||
| 13 | fixed to real property.

| 14 | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon | ||||||
| 15 | becoming law.
