1 AN ACT concerning education.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The School Code is amended by changing Section
534-74 as follows:
6 (105 ILCS 5/34-74) (from Ch. 122, par. 34-74)
7 Sec. 34-74. Custody of school moneys. Except as provided in
8Article 34A and and Section 34-29.2 of this Code, all moneys
9raised by taxation for school purposes, or received from the
10state common school fund, or from any other source for school
11purposes, shall be held by the city treasurer, ex-officio, as
12school treasurer, in separate funds for school purposes,
13subject to the order of the board upon (i) its warrants signed
14by its president and secretary and countersigned by the mayor
15and city comptroller or (ii) its checks, as defined in Section
163-104 of the Uniform Commercial Code, signed by its president,
17secretary, and comptroller and countersigned by the mayor and
18city comptroller.
