| 1 | AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 4171
| ||||||
| 2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4171 by replacing | ||||||
| 3 | everything after the enacting clause with the following:

| 4 | "Section 5. The Minimum Wage Law is amended by adding | ||||||
| 5 | Section 4.5 as follows:
| ||||||
| 6 | (820 ILCS 105/4.5 new) | ||||||
| 7 | Sec. 4.5. Advisory referendum. | ||||||
| 8 | (a) The following non-binding advisory
referendum shall be | ||||||
| 9 | placed on the ballot at the
first general
election to occur | ||||||
| 10 | after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 98th | ||||||
| 11 | General Assembly: | ||||||
| 12 | "Shall the State of Illinois require a minimum wage of | ||||||
| 13 | $9.25 per hour in 2015, $10 per hour in 2016, and $10.65 | ||||||
| 14 | per hour in 2017 and thereafter for employment within the | ||||||
| 15 | State of Illinois?". | ||||||
| 16 | Votes shall be recorded as "Yes" or "No". | ||||||

| 1 | (b) This Section is repealed on January 1, 2017.

| 2 | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon | ||||||
| 3 | becoming law.".
