| ||||
| ||||
AN ACT concerning transportation.
| ||||
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| ||||
represented in the General Assembly:
| ||||
Section 1. Findings. There is currently a lack of
information available to State and local government officials
and the public at large regarding the number and type of
traffic violations involving taxis. By imposing a duty upon
circuit court clerks to make this information available,
governments can take further steps to ensure the safety of our
streets for both pedestrians and drivers.
| ||||
Section 5. The Taxi Safety Act of 2007 is amended by adding
Section 15 as follows:
| ||||
(625 ILCS 55/15 new) | ||||
Sec. 15. Taxi safety reporting. In counties in which
vehicle citation records are not readily available to the
public, the clerk of the circuit court shall furnish a list of
all moving violations involving a taxi or an individual
licensed or registered as a taxi driver upon the request of a
unit of government that licenses, registers, or otherwise
regulates taxi drivers.
