Bill Title: Reinserts the provisions of the introduced bill with the following changes. Provides that a group or individual policy of accident and health insurance amended, delivered, issued, or renewed on or after January 1, 2025 (rather than the effective date of the amendatory Act) shall provide coverage for therapy, diagnostic testing, and equipment necessary to increase quality of life for children who have been clinically or genetically diagnosed with any disease, syndrome, or disorder that includes low tone neuromuscular impairment, neurological impairment, or cognitive impairment. Removes language providing that the coverage shall include 315 combined therapy sessions per year.

1 AN ACT concerning regulation.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by
5adding Section 356z.61 as follows:
6 (215 ILCS 5/356z.61 new)
7 Sec. 356z.61. Coverage for children with neuromuscular,
8neurological, or cognitive impairment. A group or individual
9policy of accident and health insurance amended, delivered,
10issued, or renewed on or after January 1, 2025 shall provide
11coverage for therapy, diagnostic testing, and equipment
12necessary to increase quality of life for children who have
13been clinically or genetically diagnosed with any disease,
14syndrome, or disorder that includes low tone neuromuscular
15impairment, neurological impairment, or cognitive impairment.
