Bill Title: Amends the Motor Fuel Sales Act. Authorizes motor fuel blends containing 10.5% to 15% ethanol, by volume, to be sold in the State at any time during the year if permitted under federal law. Provides that, if a federal authorization must be obtained to provide for the year-round sale of those motor fuel blends, then the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency shall take all actions necessary to obtain the federal authorization on behalf of the State.

SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
815 ILCS 365/1.5 new

Amends the Motor Fuel Sales Act. Authorizes motor fuel blends containing 10.5% to 15% ethanol, by volume, to be sold in the State at any time during the year if permitted under federal law. 1 AN ACT concerning business.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Motor Fuel Sales Act is amended by adding
5Section 1.5 as follows:
6 (815 ILCS 365/1.5 new)
7 Sec. 1.5. Sale of E-15 motor fuel blends.
8 (a) To the extent allowed by federal law, motor fuel
9blends containing 10.5% to 15% ethanol, by volume, may be sold
10in the State at any time during the year.
11 (b) If a waiver or other federal authorization must be
12obtained to permit the sale of the motor fuel blends described
13in subsection (a) throughout the year, then the Illinois
14Environmental Protection Agency shall take all actions
15necessary to obtain the federal authorization on behalf of the
16State.
