1 AN ACT concerning business.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business
5Practices Act is amended by adding Section 2TTT as follows:
6 (815 ILCS 505/2TTT new)
7 Sec. 2TTT. Perma-cookie prohibition.
8 (a) "Perma-cookie" means a unique header tied to cellular
9telephone data plans that uniquely identify a user to the
10websites the user visits.
11 (b) A provider of wireless telephone service may not use or
12permit the use of perma-cookies to monitor the viewing habits
13of its data plan users.
14 (c) A violation of this Section is an unlawful practice
15within the meaning of this Act.
