1 AN ACT concerning safety.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Alternate Fuels Act is amended by changing
5Section 5 as follows:
6 (415 ILCS 120/5)
7 Sec. 5. Purpose. The The General Assembly declares that it
8is the public policy of the State to promote and encourage the
9use of alternate fuel in vehicles as a means to improve air
10quality in the State and to meet the requirements of the
11federal Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990 and the federal
12Energy Policy Act of 1992. The General Assembly further
13declares that the State can play a leadership role in the
14development of vehicles powered by alternate fuels, as well as
15in the establishment of the necessary infrastructure to
16support this emerging technology.
