Bill Title: Amends the Park District Code. Provides that a park district may enter into a lease, contract, or other agreement related to the acquisition of solar energy, including the installation, maintenance, and service of solar panels, equipment, or similar technology related to solar energy, for a period not to exceed 2.5 times the term of years provided for in other provisions authorizing a lease for equipment and machinery (currently, up to 8 years) when authorized by the affirmative vote of two-thirds of the governing board of the park district. Effective immediately.

AN ACT concerning local government.
| ||||
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| ||||
represented in the General Assembly:
| ||||
Section 5. The Park District Code is amended by adding | ||||
Section 8-13a as follows:

(70 ILCS 1205/8-13a new) | ||||
Sec. 8-13a. Agreements related to solar energy. | ||||
Notwithstanding any other provision of this Code, a park | ||||
district may enter into a lease, contract, or other agreement | ||||
related to the acquisition of solar energy, including the | ||||
installation, maintenance, and service of solar panels, | ||||
equipment, or similar technology related to solar energy, for | ||||
a period not to exceed 2.5 times the term of years provided for | ||||
in Section 8-13 when authorized by the affirmative vote of | ||||
two-thirds of the governing board of the park district.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon | ||||
becoming law.
