Bill Title: Amends the Park District Code. Provides that a park district may enter into a lease, contract, or other agreement related to the acquisition of solar energy, including the installation, maintenance, and service of solar panels, equipment, or similar technology related to solar energy, for a period not to exceed 2.5 times the term of years provided for in other provisions authorizing a lease for equipment and machinery (currently, up to 8 years) when authorized by the affirmative vote of two-thirds of the governing board of the park district. Effective immediately.

AN ACT concerning local government.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The Park District Code is amended by adding
Section 8-13a as follows:
(70 ILCS 1205/8-13a new)
Sec. 8-13a. Agreements related to solar energy.
Notwithstanding any other provision of this Code, a park
district may enter into a lease, contract, or other agreement
related to the acquisition of solar energy, including the
installation, maintenance, and service of solar panels,
equipment, or similar technology related to solar energy, for
a period not to exceed 2.5 times the term of years provided for
in Section 8-13 when authorized by the affirmative vote of
two-thirds of the governing board of the park district.
Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
becoming law.
