Bill Title: Amends the National Guard Veterans Exposure to Hazardous Materials Act. Repeals provisions: establishing a task force to study the possible health effects of the exposure to hazardous materials; requiring the task force to submit a report by January 31, 2008; and terminating the task force on the earlier of the date it submitted the report or January 31, 2008.

AN ACT concerning veterans.
| ||||
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| ||||
represented in the General Assembly:
| ||||
Section 3. The State Commemorative Dates Act is amended by | ||||
adding Section 165 as follows:

(5 ILCS 490/165 new) | ||||
Sec. 165. Purple Heart Day. The 7th day of August of each | ||||
year is designated Purple Heart Day to be observed as a day to | ||||
honor and remember those who have been wounded or killed in | ||||
battle.
