Bill Title: Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that in an effort to ensure that recipients of benefits provided under the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) (formerly the Food Stamp Program) have access to fresh, nutritious foods, the Secretary of the Department of Human Services shall seek a waiver from the United States Department of Agriculture to allow the State to require all retail food stores, as a condition of eligibility to accept and redeem SNAP benefits held on a LINK card, to offer for sale on a continual basis fresh, nutritious foods.
