Summary

Amends the State Finance Act to create the Secretary of State Registration Enforcement Fund. Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that when a Secretary of State investigator is required to register a vehicle by any provision of the Code, including administrative rules, an additional fee shall be assessed in the amount of $300 per vehicle. Provides that the fee shall be assessed at the time of the required registration and deposited into the Secretary of State Registration Enforcement Fund. Provides that moneys in the Fund shall be used for operations, training, and equipment related to registration enforcement and relevant administrative duties within the Office of the Secretary of State.
