Summary

Amends the Illinois Pension Code. Provides that the 5 State-funded retirement systems may not enter into any new contract, or extend or renew any existing contract, under which System funds are used to compensate a contract lobbyist. In the Downstate Teachers Article, provides that the board of trustees of the system has the power to appoint employees and obtain actuarial, legal, clerical, audit, medical, or other services. Effective immediately.
