Summary

Amends the Regulatory Sunset Act. Extends the repeal date of the Orthotics, Prosthetics, and Pedorthics Practice Act from January 1, 2020 to January 1, 2030. Amends the Orthotics, Prosthetics, and Pedorthics Practice Act. Provides that all applicants and licensees shall provide a valid address and email address, which shall serve as the address and email address of record, and shall inform the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation of any change of address or email address through specified means. Provides that members of the Board of Orthotics, Prosthetics, and Pedorthics shall be reimbursed for all legitimate, necessary, and authorized expenses (instead of reasonable expenses). Provides that a licensee willfully making or filing false records or reports related to that licensee's practice with a federal or State (instead of State alone) agency or department is grounds for disciplinary action. Provides that willfully failing to report an instance of suspected abuse, neglect, self-neglect, or financial exploitation of an eligible adult as required by the Adult Protective Services Act is grounds for disciplinary action. Provides that if the Department issues notice of a formal hearing to a person holding or claiming to hold a license under the Act and that person, after receiving the notice, fails to file an answer, his or her license may, in the discretion of the Secretary of Financial and Professional Regulation, be subject to disciplinary action. Adds provisions concerning confidentiality. Repeals provisions concerning rosters. Makes other changes. Effective immediately.
